The Shawnee Country
Club (SCC)
Article I - The Name
The name of this group shall be “The Shawnee Country Club”
(Club).
Article II – Purpose
The purpose of the Club shall be to promote fellowship and good
will between its members, to sponsor and advance golf and similar
sporting activities not for profit among its members which are normally
incident to the operation of a year-round country club.
Article III – Address
The place of business and the mailing address of the Club shall
be Shawnee Inn, River Road, Shawnee, PA 18356.
Article IV – Membership
The membership of the Club shall consist of four classes: Individual,
Family, Corporate and Limited or Honorary:
A Individual:
Individual members are those who have paid an initiation fee and
dues to Shawnee Inn as required.
B Family:
Family members are those who have paid an initiation fee and dues
to Shawnee Inn as required. The membership shall include all immediate
members of each such eligible family with the exception of sons
and daughters who have attained their 23rd birthday (excepting full-time
students) and/or married sons and daughters of any age.
C Corporate:
Corporate members are those corporations and other recognized business
or professional entities that have paid an initiation fee and dues
to Shawnee Inn as required and Membership Activities Fees to the
Club for each person employed by the entity who plays golf or otherwise
participates in Club activities. Corporate membership shall include
all of the benefits of Individual and Family memberships. The entity
must identify, in writing, all persons who will participate under
the membership and a member designee. The membership will be in
the name of the entity and the entity may name a new designee should
the previous designee depart or retire. All designees and their
successors are subject to the approval of the Board.
D Limited or Honorary:
Either classification would be applicable to such persons as may
be designated by Shawnee Inn, whose privileges would be defined
and authorized for indeterminate periods of time.
E Approvals:
all proposed members brought forth by the Club must be approved
by Shawnee Inn. Proposed members brought forth by Shawnee Inn must
be approved by the Board.
Article V – Termination of Membership
Any membership may be cancelled as herein provided by majority vote
of the Board. The basis for cancellation shall be a finding by the
Board that such member has failed, after reasonable notice, to pay
dues, fees, charges or other accounts for the use of services and
facilities or has engaged in conduct detrimental to the Club and
its purposes. When it shall come to the attention of the Board that
a member has failed to make required payments or has engaged in
conduct as foresaid, the Board shall appoint a committee consisting
of (3) members of the Board which shall conduct a full and thorough
investigation on such allegations, including an interview with the
member. The committee shall thereafter present a written report
to the Board setting forth the findings of its investigation. The
Board shall thereupon make a final determination of the matter.
Any member whose membership is thus cancelled shall not be entitled
to any reimbursement of dues or any other prepaid fee.
Article VI – Fees
It shall be the responsibility of Shawnee Inn to establish all fees
and charges for membership in the Club, except for the Membership
Activity Fee (MAF), which shall be the responsibility of the Board.
It shall be a prerequisite for continuation of membership as well
as participation in SMGA and SWGA events that the MAF fee be received
by the Club by May 1 of each year. Dues for SMGA and SWGA are established
by the individual associations.
Article VII – Leaves of Absence
Any member may request a leave of absence upon application made
in writing to the Board. The request may specify a reason for the
leave of absence. The approval of any such request shall be at the
discretion of the Board and shall be limited for a one-year period.
Article VIII – Directors
The affairs of the Club shall be managed by a Board as from time
to time constituted.
A Number:
The Board shall consist of 13 directors, 10 of whom shall be members
of the Country Club in good standing and the remaining 3 directors
shall be appointed by Shawnee Inn, one of whom shall be the General
Manager of Shawnee Inn.
B Election:
Of the 10 directors who are members of the Country Club, 7 shall
be elected by the membership, one shall be appointed by the Board,
and the remaining 2 director positions are reserved one each for
the President of SMGA and the President of SWGA. These last 2 directors
shall have the same rights and privileges as all other members of
the Board. Should either or both already be members of the Board,
their positions are to remain vacant.
C Term:
Of the 7 directors who are elected by the membership, 6 shall serve
for a 3-year term and the one for a 1-year term. Three directors
shall be elected at each annual meeting; 2 for a 3-year term and
one for a 1-year term. The 2 candidates receiving the highest numbers
of votes cast shall be elected for 3-year terms, and the candidate
receiving the third highest number of votes shall be elected for
a 1-year term. The director appointed by the Board shall serve for
a 1-year term.
D Appointments by
Shawnee Inn: The 3 directors who are appointed by
Shawnee Inn shall be appointed by the management of Shawnee Inn
immediately following the Annual Meeting of the Club and they shall
serve for a 1-year term.
E Removal: The
entire Board or any individual director, other than those appointed
by Shawnee Inn, may be removed from office by a majority vote of
the members at a meeting called for that purpose. In case the Board
or any one or more directors be so removed, new directors may be
elected at the same meeting to serve the remaining term of the director
or directors so removed.
F Limit:
Elected members of the Board may serve no more than 6 consecutive
years.
G Responsibility:
The Board is responsible for providing liaison between the membership
and Shawnee Inn; and the planning, promotion and organization of
the members’ activities subject to coordination with other
activities under the control of the General Manager. The Board shall
be responsible for the approval of new members.
H Compensation:
Directors shall receive no remuneration for their services.
I Regular Meetings:
The Board shall meet each month at such place and time as may be
fixed by the Board.
J Special Meetings:
Special meetings of the Board may be called by the President or
by any 2 directors. Notice of such special meeting shall be mailed
to each director no later than 2 days before the meeting date, or
shall be communicated to such directors by fax, phone, E-mail or
delivered in person before the meeting. Such notice may be waived
by any director, and any meeting shall be a legal meeting without
any notice having been given if all directors shall be present.
K Quorum:
At all meetings of the Board the presence of a majority of the Directors
then in office shall be necessary to constitute a quorum sufficient
for the transaction of business. Any act of a majority present at
a meeting at which there is a quorum shall be the act of the Board.
L Resignations:
Any director may resign his position as such at any time by giving
written notice to the President of the Club. Such resignations shall
take effect at the time specified therein and the acceptance thereof
shall not be necessary to make it effective.
M Vacancies: Vacancies,
except for directors appointed by Shawnee Inn, may be filled by
a majority of the remaining directors, though less than a quorum
or by a sole remaining director. Each director so elected shall
hold office until his/her successor is elected at an annual or regular
meeting, or a special meeting of the members. The members may elect
a director at any time to fill any vacancy not filled by the directors.
Article IX – Officers
A Executive Officers:
The Officers of the Club shall be the President,
one or more Vice-Presidents, a Treasurer, a Secretary, and such
other Officers as from time to time the Board may deem necessary
or expedient. The Officers of the Club shall be elected annually
by the Board at the first meeting of the Board following the Annual
Meeting of the members. Each such Officer shall hold office for
a term of 1 year, and thereafter until a successor is elected.
B President: The
President shall be the Chief Executive officer of the Club. He/She
shall, when present, preside at all meetings of the members and
of the Board. The President shall consult with and direct the Officers
of the Club concerning reports to be given at each meeting of the
Directors upon all matters within his/her knowledge which in the
interest of the Club may require to be brought to their notice.
The President shall have additional powers, obligations and duties
as may be assigned to him/her by the Board.
C Vice-President:
In the absence or disability of the President, the Vice-president
in order of appointment shall perform all the duties of the President,
and when so acting shall have the powers of the President. The Vice-President
shall have all such additional powers and duties as may be assigned
him/her by the President or the Board.
D Secretary:
The Secretary shall keep a full and accurate record of all meetings
of the members and the Board. He/She is responsible for all notices
of meetings of the members and the Board. In addition, he/she shall
perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to
him/her by the Board.
E Treasurer:
The Treasurer shall have charge of and be responsible for receipts
and disbursements of the membership Activity Fund (MAF). The Treasurer
shall deposit, in the name of the Fund, all monies in such banks
as shall, from time to time, be selected by the Board. The Treasurer
shall render, whenever requested, but no less than annually, an
account of the financial condition of the Fund. In addition, the
Treasurer shall perform such other duties as may be assigned to
him/her by the Board.
F Subordinate Officers:
The Board may elect such subordinate officers as
it may deem desirable. Each such officer shall hold office for such
period, and shall have such authority and perform such duties as
the Board may prescribe.
G Compensation:
Officers shall receive no remuneration for their services.
H Officers Holding
More Than One Office: Two or more offices (except
that of President and Secretary) may be held by the same person.
However, no officer shall execute, acknowledge or verify any instrument
in more than one capacity.
I Removal:
The Board shall have power at any regular or special meeting to
remove an officer with cause. Such action shall be conclusive on
the officer so removed.
J Vacancies:
At any regular or special meeting the Board shall have the power
to fill a vacancy occurring in any office for the un-expired portion
of the term.
Article X – Associations
The Board recognizes that there are the following associations:
the Shawnee Women’s Golf Association (SWGA) and the Shawnee
Men’s Golf Association (SMGA) and such other associations
as may from time to time be formed and recognized by the Board.
Such associations are required to have a copy of their bylaws submitted
to the Board and any changes thereto on an annual basis. Any provisions
of such by-laws that are inconsistent with by-laws of the Club shall
be amended to conform.
Article XI – Fiscal Year
The Fiscal Year of the Club shall commence on April 1 of each year
and end on March 31.
Article XII – Meetings
A Annual Meeting:
The Annual Meeting shall be held at a time chosen by the Board which
time shall be during the last three calendar months of the year.
The meeting shall be held at Shawnee Inn. At such Annual Meeting,
Directors shall be elected, reports of the affairs of the Club shall
be presented, and any other business may be transacted which is
within the powers of the members.
B Special Meetings:
Special meetings of the members may be called at any time by the
President or by the Board. Such meetings shall be held at Shawnee
Inn.
C Notice of Meetings:
Notice of all meetings of the members, both annual and special,
shall be given by the Secretary in writing to members entitled to
vote. A notice may be given either personally or by mail. Such notice
shall specify the day and hour of the meeting, and in the case of
Special Meetings, the general nature of the business to be transacted.
Notice of any meeting of members shall be sent no less than 10 days
prior to such meeting.
Article XIII – Quorum
The presence of 50% + 1 members, represented in person or by proxy,
shall constitute a Quorum for the transaction of business at all
meetings of the members. A majority vote of a Quorum shall decide
any questions before such a meeting. The members present at a duly
called or held meeting at which a Quorum is present may continue
to do business until adjournment not withstanding the withdrawal
of enough members to leave less than a Quorum.
Article XIV – Voting
Every membership (4 classes of membership as herein defined) shall
be entitled to 1 vote and may vote either in person or by proxy.
All proxies must be in writing. All new members may vote only after
having been a full member since July 1.
Article XV – Amendments
These by-laws may be amended only by a majority vote of the members
present at a regular or special meeting of the Club, provided notice
of the proposed amendment has been stated in the call of the meeting.
Article XVI – Procedure
Roberts Rules of Order shall apply to any power or procedure not
provided for in these by-laws.
S.M.G.A. By-Laws
ARTICLE I – NAME – PURPOSE
Section 1. The name of this group shall
be the “Shawnee Men’s Golf Association”. (S.M.G.A.)
Section 2. The purpose of this Association
shall be to promote social and competitive golf among the members.
ARTICLE II – MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Membership in this Association
shall be open to male golfing members of the Shawnee Country Club
who upon application for membership and payment of requisite dues
shall there upon become members of this Association.
ARTICLE III – ANNUAL MEETING AND ELECTIONS
Section 1. The annual meeting of this
Association shall be held in October at the close of the golfing
season. Timely notice of such meeting shall be given to the members.
Section 2.
The attendance in person of ten (10) members shall
constitute a quorum at any annual meeting.
Section 3. Two weeks prior to
the date of the annual meeting the president shall appoint a nominating
committee of three members whose purpose shall be to present a slate
of officers for the following year.
Section 4. At each annual meeting the
officers of the Association shall be elected as provided herein.
The general membership may nominate from the floor candidates other
than those recommended by the nominating committee.
ARTICLE IV – EXECUTIVE BOARD
Section 1. The affairs of the Association
shall be managed by an Executive Board consisting of the officers,
the immediate past president and the chairmen of standing committees.
Section 2. The Executive Board shall meet
at the call of the President. Four members of the Board shall constitute
a quorum for the transaction of business.
ARTICLE V – OFFICERS – DUTIES
Section 1. The officers of this Association
shall be a President, a Vice President, a Secretary and a Treasurer.
Section 2. The officers shall be elected
as provided herein at the annual meeting to serve until their successors
are elected. Vacancies occurring between annual meetings may be
filled by the Executive Board.
Section 3.
The President shall preside at all meetings of the
Executive Board or the members, and shall use his best to forward
the interests of the Association. He shall be an ex-officio member
of all committees and shall have general supervision and direction
of the affairs of the Association. He may vote only when necessary
to break a tie.
Section 4. The Vice-President shall perform
the duties of the President in case of his absence.
Section 5. The Secretary shall
act in both a recording and corresponding capacity and shall record
the minutes of all meetings of the Executive Board or the members.
Section 6. The Treasurer shall
have charge of the funds of the Association. He shall collect all
items owing to the Association, safely keep its funds in an account
in the name of the Association in such bank as the Executive Board
shall designate, the same to be disbursed by check signed by such
officer or officers as may be designated by the Board. He shall
make a periodic report of receipts of disbursements when requested
by the President, and shall make a summarized report of the fiscal
affairs of the Association at the end of the golf season at the
annual meeting. He shall keep a roster of members and deposit dues
received in the Association bank account.
ARTICLE VI – COMMITTEES – DUTIES OF COMMITTEES
Section 1. The newly elected President
shall appoint the chairmen of the following committees for the ensuing
year; the appointed chairman of each committee shall select such
additional members of the committee as he deems necessary.
A. Tournament Committee:
The duties of this chairman and committee shall
be to arrange the detail of and conduct all regularly scheduled
tournaments.
B. Handicap Committee:
The duties of this chairman and committee shall be to make certain
that a handicapping system is available to each member of the Association
and that the procedure and method of recording handicaps is in full
compliance with all elements of the USGA system of handicapping.
In the event of any change in the USGA system in the procedure,
computation, and/or method of recording handicaps, such change shall
automatically apply to and become part of this paragraph of these
by-laws, the USGA system to be used in its entirety in the Shawnee
Men’s Golf Association program.
ARTICLE VII – ELIGIBILITY FOR TOURNAMENTS
Section 1.
A member shall be ineligible to compete in any handicap
tournament unless he shall have five (5) posted scores for the current
year.
Section 2. Eligibility for participation
in the President’s Cup and Governor’s Cup tournaments:
Five (5) 18-hole scores must be posted for the current year prior
to competing.
Section 3. Eligibility for participation
in the Club Championship: Ten (10) 18-hole scores must be posted
for the current year in order to qualify. In addition to the above
requirement – every responsibility to the Country Club and
SMGA must have been met.
ARTICLE VIII – DUES
Section 1.
The annual dues for membership in the Association
shall be in such amount and payable in such manner as fixed by the
Executive Board.
ARTICLE IX – AMENDMENTS
Section 1. These by-laws may be amended
or revised at any meeting of the Association by two-thirds assenting
vote of those present; provided the proposed amendment has been
mailed or presented to each member ten days prior to the meeting.
Section 2. A member may be expelled from
the Association by the unanimous vote of the Executive Committee,
for any reason what-so-ever, provided such member had the opportunity
to address the Executive Committee in person to state his objection
to such disciplinary action. Any member so expelled shall receive
in full current dues he may have paid to the Association.
ARTICLE X – GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS –
YOUR HANDICAP
Following are the requirements for posting of scores in SMGA:
1. Before posting your 18 hole score, adjust the
gross score, based on your handicap, according to the current USGA
procedure. The current adjusting instructions are posted on the
bulletin board.
2. Monthly update handicap cards will be issued
to each member of SMGA. The cards will be available in the golf
shop. Participation in SMGA tournaments is open to all PAID members,
however, you mast have an “ESTABLISHED HANDICAP” to
be eligible for prizes or trophies.
3. The Association dues pays for the computer Handicap
System, as well as printing and mailing costs and other expenses
of your Association.
4. New members are to post their gross scores,
as there is no basis for adjusting until a handicap has been established.
Five eighteen hole rounds are required to establish a Computer Handicap.
SWGA By-Laws
ARTICLE I – NAME – PURPOSE – FISCAL YEAR
Section A. The organization shall be known
as the Shawnee Women’s Golf Association (SWGA).
Section B. The Association’s purpose
is to promote social and competitive golf among the members.
Section C. The fiscal year shall be the
calendar year.
ARTICLE II - MEMBERSHIP
Section A. Membership in this Association
shall be open to women members of the Shawnee Country Club, 16 years
or over, who upon application for membership and payment of requisite
dues shall thereupon become members of this Association.
Section B. Limited or Honorary Membership
may be given to such persons as recommended by the Executive Board
of SWGA and designated by Shawnee Inn, Inc. whose privileges would
be defined and authorized for indeterminate periods of time.
ARTICLE III. - ANNUAL MEETING AND ELECTIONS
Section A. The annual meeting of the Association
shall be held on the last tournament day of the season. Written
notice of such meeting shall be mailed to all members as well as
posting same in the women’s locker room of the Shawnee Country
Club at least two weeks prior to the meeting date.

at least ten (10) members and two (2) officers one of which includes
the President or Vice President shall constitute a quorum at any
annual meeting.
Section C. The President shall appoint
a nominating committee of three members at least two weeks prior
to the date of the annual meeting whose purpose shall be to present

officers of the Association shall be elected as provided herein.

• Perform all the duties of the President in her absence or
at her request.
Section E. The Secretary shall:
• Record minutes of all meetings of the executive board or
the members.
• Be responsible for all Association correspondence except
that which is delegated to the chairmen.
• Maintain a roster of all members and issue membership identification.
Section F. The Treasurer shall:
• Have charge of the funds of the association.
• Collect all dues and debts owed the Association.
• Safely keep the Association funds in such bank, as the Executive
Board shall designate, the same to be disbursed by check signed
by such officer or officers as may be designated by the Board.
• Make a periodic report of receipts or disbursements when
requested by the President.
• Make a summarized report of the fiscal affairs for the Association
at the end of the fiscal year.
ARTICLE VI. – STANDING COMMITTEES
Section A. The newly elected President
shall appoint the chairmen of the following committees for the ensuing
year; the appointed chairmen of each committee shall select such
additional members of the committee as she deems necessary.
1. The Tournament Chairman shall:
• Arrange the detail of and conduct all tournaments.
• Be responsible to make pairings for all tournaments, according
to handicaps.
2. The Handicap Chairman shall:
• Be responsible for helping maintain accurate handicaps for
all golfers.
• Work with the Head Golf Professional in promoting and ensuring
proper posting procedures.
• Be responsible for addressing handicap discrepancies within
the membership.
• Determine the most improved golfer of the year.
3. The By-laws and Rules Chairman shall:
• Review the by-laws and rules of the Association on an annual
basis.
• Understand, interpret and promote knowledge of and adherence
to said rules.
• Be responsible to present any proposed amendments to the
Executive Board and the membership at large in accordance with Article
X of said By-laws.
ARTICLE VII. – TOURNAMENTS
Section A. A member shall be eligible
to compete for prizes in any tournament providing she has a valid
handicap. If she has no valid handicap she may submit to the handicap
chairman at least twenty-four hours in advance of the match, five
(5) attested scores of the current season, three (3) of which may
be from another club.
Section B. A member shall be eligible
to compete in the Club Championship as long as she has been a member
in good standing on or before August 1 of the current season. She
shall have played in two (2) SWGA tournaments – rainouts are
included.
ARTICLE VIII – GENERAL RULES
Section A. General rules for play will
be listed separately from the By-laws. These rules may be revised
at any meeting of the Association by a majority vote of those present
provided there is a quorum.
ARTICLE IX – DUES
Section A. The annual dues shall be in
such amount and payable in such manner as shall be fixed by the
Executive Board.
ARTICLE X – AMENDMENTS
Section A. These By-laws may be amended
or revised at any meeting of the Association by two-thirds assenting
vote of those present; provided the proposed amendment has been
mailed or presented to each member ten days prior to the meeting.
SWGA LOCAL RULES OF PLAY
1. Preferred lies in your own fairway only. You
may place the ball within six inches, no nearer the hole without
a penalty.
2. Hazard lines for lakes: All water hazards are
to be played as lateral hazards, with the exceptions of # 2 Red
and # 7 Blue.
3. Balls in Hazards at # 2 Red and # 7 Blue:
A. You can play the ball from the hazard with no penalty. However,
you may not improve your lie in any way or ground your club.
B. You can hit another ball off the tee (one stroke penalty). You
will be hitting three (3) from the tee.
C. If the ball lands below the hazard lines marked by the Pro Shop,
the ball can be taken to the drop area (two stroke penalty). You
will be hitting four (4). The drop areas will be marked.
SWGA RULES
1. TOURNAMENTS
a.
RULES OF PLAY
- All SWGA tournaments will be played from the Medallions.
The exception will be mixed SWGA/SMGA tournaments which will
be announced on the day of the tournament.
- Anyone coming late will only be able to play if there is
an open slot in a grouping, which has not teed off. Calls
to cancel should be made to the tournament Chairman or the
golf shop, Sunday evening or very early Tuesday. Individuals
who fail to show up will be assessed a $5.00 no show penalty
and will not be permitted to play in another tournament until
payment has been received.
- The Tournament Committee shall decide rainouts. The golf
shop shall be notified by 7:30 a.m.
- The Tournament Committee will determine any local rules
of play necessary due to inclement weather or course conditions.
- After every tournament, you must enter your adjusted score
in the computer in the golf shop.
- Scorecards must be signed and dated after every tournament
to be eligible for any and all prizes.
- A member is allowed to bring the same guest only once per
season to a SWGA tournament. The guest would not be eligible
for prizes with the exception being the Member/Guest Tournament.
(Please determine the format for the day and use discretion
when scrambles, best balls, or low nets of foursome are being
played.)
- Half-rounder tournaments will be scheduled for novice golfers
or for those Members not able to play with the 18-hole group.
Three players shall constitute a tournament in the half-rounder
group. Anyone can play with the half-rounders but all will
play with one-half of actual handicap. Half-rounders will
establish a handicap by combining 2 nine hole scores from
2 different courses.
- All birdies and chip-ins must be posted on sheets in the
SWGA locker room. They must be recorded on the day of the
tournament in order to count for prizes. List the course (red/blue/white)
and the hole # where the birdie and/or chip-in took place.
Birdies and Chip-ins do not count on Member/Guest day or during
the Championship rounds.
- Each member is responsible for posting and paying for total
putts after any SWGA Event. Enter your total number of putts
on the sheet provided and place $.01 in the box in the SWGA
locker room for each putt.
- All players should place their scorecard in the “Ringers
Box” located in the SWGA Locker Room. The score on each
hole may be entered into a chart posted in the ladies locker
room by the Ringer Chairperson. Every time you play, the score
that is posted on the chart is compared to the new score.
The lower of the two scores is then put on the chart. At the
end of the SWGA tournament season, the Ringer Chairperson
will deduct 1 ½ of yout handicap from the final 27
hole total and your Ringer Round (as shown on the chart) will
be compared to all other players. The person who has the lowest
net score will be the Ringer Winner.
b. CHAMPIONSHIP
- Rules for Championship shall be decided yearly by the Executive
Board. Notification of format to be posted one week in advance.
Five Shawnee scores are required to play in the Championship
including two SWGA tournaments (rainouts are included). Tuesday
and Saturday tournaments along with Monday team matches may
be counted towards the two SWGA Tournaments. Mixed SMGA/SWGA
events are not included.
c. MEMBER/GUEST
- Member/Guest Day eligibility: Verification of guest’s
handicap from the pro of her home club is required one week
in advance of the tournament. If a guest does not have a handicap,
she shall submit 5 completed scorecards one week prior to
the tournament to the Shawnee Pro for a legitimate handicap.
II PRIZES
a. Prizes shall be awarded for all weekly tournaments,
regardless of weather, if four (4) players complete the
round.
b. Members must compete in six (6) tournaments to be eligible
for putt prizes. Duplicated prizes shall be given for
low putts.
c. There shall be a prize for winner and runner-up of
all flights of championship and also a prize for the winners
of the consolation flights if there are eight (8) or more
players per flight.
d. Weekly tournament winners are not eligible for more
than one prize.
e. Ties for regular Tuesday and Saturday tournaments will
not be broken and duplicated prizes will be awarded. The
tournament committee shall decide the number of prizes
based on the number of participants. Low gross shall receive
honorable mention. Prizes are First Place $5.00; Second
place $3.00; and low net $2.00 with the number of low
net prizes as outline below:
• Four to seven participants 1 first place only
• Eight to eleven participants 3 prizes
• Twelve to nineteen participants 4 prizes
• Twenty plus participants 5 prizes
f. The twenty-seven hole Ringer Championship shall be
computed by handicap. Prizes will be awarded for winner
and runner-up. Members must participate in ¼ of
available tournaments to be eligible for a prize. Scores
in the Member/Guest tournament and the Championship Tournament
do not count.
III HANDICAP RULES
a.
Handicaps shall be computed as determined by the handicap
association to which we are subscribing. Membership is required
to receive a handicap. The current handicap is in effect on the
day of tournament. The handicap Chairman will post a member’s
score from a tournament if the member fails to do so.
b. The 27 hole Ringer
Championship shall be computed by handicap.
c. Any member of SWGA
with a handicap can play with the 18-hole group. She must play all
18 holes and must keep up with the group. She will play with a maximum
of a 40 handicap.
IV GENERAL RULES
a. If a SWGA member
has a hole-in-one, she will win the amount of money contributed
by members that year. If there are subsequent winners they will
also get the same amount from the general fund if available, otherwise
each active member will contribute $1 to replenish the fund. The
member must be in at least a threesome with one other SWGA member.
On Tournament days, less that a foursome is ermitted. In a mixed
SWGA/SMGA tournament, either one SWGA member or one SMGA member
is permitted. If there is no hole-in-one, the money will revert
back to SWGA on the opening day of the new season.
b. After every round
of golf, enter your adjusted score in the computer in the golf shop.
