6.24.11 Hickory Stick Tournament Announced
To commemorate its centennial, the historic Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort (www.shawneeinn.com) is hosting its first annual Shawnee Hickory Golf Classic, Oct. 7-9. The course, built by A.W. Tillinghast in 1911, hosted the 1938 PGA Championship in which Paul Runyan defeated Sam Snead 8 & 7 in the final. It is a beautiful, historic facility in Pennsylvania on the banks of the Delaware River an hour north of Philadelphia.
